Hurst attended the University of Nevada where he received a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Business. Hurst is also a former Nevada Football player and was a member of the team from 2008 to 2011 as a Punter and Place Kicker. During his 4 seasons at Nevada, the team appeared in 4 bowl games, went 4-0 against their UNLV rivals, and won the WAC Championship in 2010.
Hurst lettered during his senior season and started all 13 games as a Punter. He also took over kicking duties when a teammate was sidelined with injuries halfway through the season and was awarded the team’s Fireman’s Award.
After his time at the University of Nevada, Hurst pursued a career in video game marketing which created the opportunity for him to leverage new technologies like YouTube, Twitch and other media platforms as avenues for promotion and working with creators. Hurst has managed and led influencer campaigns, organized sponsorships directly with creators and brands, and planned and executed international e-sports tournaments as well as online and in-person live events. He has worked with many large games in the industry including ARK Survival Evolved, Rocket League, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, Warframe, and more.
Hurst now joins Friends of the Pack after most recently working with creators at Screenwave Media to increase their opportunities for sponsorships with brands of all types. He believes that the knowledge gained while away from Nevada has prepared him perfectly for the Friends of the Pack General Manager position.
