Austin Clutts named general manager of Friends of the Pack, NIL arm for Nevada athletes

Austin Clutts was named the general manager of Friends of the Pack, the alumni-led Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program for Nevada athletics.

Clutts, a Minden native, is a double graduate from UNR, receiving his Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in sports management and economics in 2022. He will get his Master of Business Administration this May.

“I’m thrilled to be working with my alma mater to create opportunities for our student-athletes to make an impact and engage with our local Reno-Tahoe community,” Clutts said in a news release.

Friends of the Pack partners with the BPS Foundation, a 501(c)3, to support Nevada student-athletes in connecting with local groups to help promote their respective missions. The collective identifies opportunities for all Nevada programs and handles all of the administrative work that goes into ensuring all work performance is satisfied and benefits exchanged.

“As the NIL space continues to evolve and grow, it is imperative to remain proactive on providing opportunities for our student-athletes,” Nevada athletic director Stephanie Rempe said in a news release. “Friends of the Pack has been a crucial component to our efforts, and the addition of Austin Clutts will only increase the benefits and opportunities for Wolf Pack student-athletes.”

In his new role, Clutts will oversee the collaboration with Nevada athletics to implement and execute student-athlete engagement with the Reno-Tahoe community and identify the best avenues for benefits for student-athletes. Clutts has worked with Blueprint Sports since April, building relationships with donors and local businesses and driving strategic plans to raise new revenue for the collective.

Prior to joining Blueprint Sports, Clutts worked as a data/research analyst for Dickson Commercial Group in Reno. For more information regarding Friends of the Pack, you can contact Clutts at austin@friendsofthepack.com.
